We were really pleased to be selected for a residency at Studio Kura in Itoshima on the southern Japanese island of Kyushu. It has been somewhere we have wanted to go for many years and we spent 1 month at the residency and another month travelling in Japan with stays in Tokyo, Fukuoka, Osaka and Kyoto.

We were given a couple of rooms in an old Japanese house in the village which we shared with other artists. There was a large studio attached to the house. Beautiful beaches and countryside were a short walk or cycle away.
